Where do you get company email addresses, and how up-to-date are they?
We source contacts from several partner maritime websites where companies provide their email addresses. We regularly verify and update the database, removing invalid emails. Unlike free lists found online that can become outdated within months, our database is maintained and kept current.
Why did I receive multiple non-delivery reports?
This is normal. Many companies use shared inboxes that automatically forward incoming emails to different departments or employees inside the organization. Sometimes outdated internal recipients remain in those forwarding rules (for example, an employee has left the company, but the forwarding list was not updated). In such cases, some forwards may bounce, and you may receive a non-delivery report for that internal address even if the email was accepted by the company’s main address.
Can I choose which companies will receive my CV?
Yes, you have full control over the mailing. You can select companies by fleet type or by region. You can also exclude specific companies - for example, those where you have already registered or currently work.
How soon should I expect replies from companies?
The first responses usually arrive within a few days. The timeline depends on your position, experience, fleet type, and current demand. Important: if you have limited experience, crewing agencies often add your CV to their database and contact you later when a suitable vacancy appears. Make sure you enter a realistic availability date - it increases your chances of a faster reply.
How do I know the mailing was actually completed?
You receive a detailed delivery report with a mailing log: the exact time each email was sent and its delivery status. Full transparency - you can see where and when your CV was sent.
What format should my CV be in?
We accept DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, RTF, and PDF. Maximum file size is 1 MB. You can also attach up to two additional files (for example, reference letters or an archive of documents) up to 1.5 MB each. Your CV should be in English and include up-to-date contact details and your availability date.
Is it safe? Will my data end up with scammers?
Your CV is sent only to verified maritime companies. We do not publish your contact details publicly and we do not share your information with third parties. Important: legitimate crewing companies never charge money for employment - if someone asks you to pay for a “guaranteed contract”, a visa, or a medical check, it is very likely a scam.
Does this guarantee a job?
No - and no mailing service can guarantee that. Maritime-CV increases your reach: your CV goes directly to hundreds of companies instead of you contacting them one by one. The decision on an interview and contract is always made by the employer.
